A date with a Major League Soccer team was the prize for 16 lower division teams in the Second Round of the 2026 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Tuesday night schedule saw a pair of lower division teams pull off cupsets with the Charlotte Independence knocking off the Charleston Battery in extra time and Union Omaha edging Indy Eleven 2-1. A 9-man One Knoxville team (USL League One) avoided a disaster with a penalty kick win over USL League Two side Asheville City SC. The remaining three games saw the favorites take care of business with shutout wins.
