90 Days: Sunday, October 13 (Day No. 8)

(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Awoke, 8a

Handicapped races, 8a-8:15a

Pretty light day of handicapping and wagering: $7 bankroll, went 0/4 in Double and Pick 3 wagers at Aqueduct, Keeneland, and Woodbine.

Handicapped soccer games, 8:15a-8:30a

Also a pretty ho-hum day of soccer wagers. Put together a  ten-cent, 12-game parlay that would've paid out $48.48, but only hit on 7/12 of the wagers.

Updated Ivory + Rose Diarist, 8:30a-8:45a

Updated journal, 9a-9:15a

Listened to The Owner's Box podcast, 9:30a-10:30a

Supported ally clubs, 10:30a-10:45a

Purchased a Chicago House AC scarf to replace the beer we owed them, and then purchased my season ticket for the supporters' section at Portland Hearts of Pine games.

Watched races, 1:30p-1:45p

Coached GYSA U14 Girls team, 2:30p-8:30p

I've been coaching at one of the three holiday weekend youth soccer tournaments for the last dozen years, and our teams have always had an enjoyable experience. But this weekend was special, because it will probably be the last town-based club town I coach for the foreseeable future and it was a culminating experience with two assistant coaches and a U14 Girls team that all three of us had been working with every fall since the team was a U9 Girls team.

Watched soccer, 9:45p-10p

Asleep, 12:42a
