90 Days: Tuesday, October 29 (Day No. 24)

(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Awoke, 5:28a

Drove to Westbrook High School, 7a-7:30a

Our local high school programs' boosters have a cool tradition of showcasing wooden cutouts of each varsity player's jersey downtown, so I had some extra time on my commute to drive by the cutout of our daughter's soccer jersey.

It's just one of the many traditions and responsibilities our programs' parents uphold every season to make sure our daughters' experiences playing for their schools is as memorable and positive as possible.

Worked at Westbrook High School 7:30a-2:30p

Maine Soccer Association admin, 3:30p-4p

As noted before, our meeting on Sunday night to help establish a Maine Soccer Hall of Fame was really productive, but there are couple loose ends we still need to tie up before working on the incorporation process and submitting our paperwork to the State of Maine.

Rosevelt SC admin, 4p-4:30p

As the Fall Classic and high school seasons wind down, our club's work gears up. Some areas of focus right now are finalizing our contract with the indoor facility we've partnered with since our club's inception in 2014, filling our last few coaching vacancies, preparing for our Academy teams' showcase events in about a month, and planning for our club's 11th Annual General Meeting and Club Kick-Off! event next month.

Attended our older daughter's high school soccer game, 5:15p-7:15p

Our daughters' high school career has been the only soccer programming I've been involved with when my only role is as a parent.

And let's just say my experiences and perspectives as a parent over the last couple years have given me insights into how to be a better coach and a better administrator of a program, and we'll leave it at that.

Asleep, 9:51p
