90 Days: Tuesday, November 12 (Day No. 37)

(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Awoke, 5:33a

Worked at Westbrook High School, 7:30a-1:30p

Watched Crimson Pine's race, 1:45p-2p

Crimson Pine was again placed in a class one step higher than he should be placed, and he drew an outside post--again. So unfortunately the result was similar to the result we've seen he broke his maiden on September 30.

Attended medical appointment, 2:15p-3:45p

I've been dealing with vertigo-related symptoms since mid-August, and the one persistent symptom has been pressure in my ears and sensitivity to loud noises. For the most part, I've been able to manage the issue with a daily antihistamine, but it gets worse for a couple days every once in a while. Hopefully, an upcoming appointment with an ENT specialist will help.

Listened to JK + 1 podcast, 3:45p-4:30p

Long form interviews are obviously a hallmark of podcasts, and Jonathan Kinchen's interview with trainer Dan Blacker is a worthwhile listen.

Blacker leads a relatively small string of Thoroughbreds in California, and he won his first Breeders' Cup championship this year when Straight No Chaser won the dirt sprint.

Listened to Hang Up and Listen podcast, 5:15p-6:15p

Even though I've listened to this podcast for as long as I can remember, the current version is different with new hosts.

Regardless of the hosts, the show is unique in the sports and stories it covers, and the points-of-view on those sports and stories are unique. This most recent episode was about how the recent elections may (or may not) impact collegiate and professional sports.

Asleep, 8:45p
