(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)
Awoke, 5:00a
Worked at Westbrook High School, 7:30a-2:30p
Ivory Pine Syndicate admin, 2:45p-3:15p
Sent a prospectus for our partnership's 2025 Offering to our current Sixby Hanover and Crimson Pine partners to give our current partners the right of first refusal before we start sharing the prospectus publicly.
Rosevelt SC admin, 3:30p-4p
Tied up a few loose ends to set us up for a lot of admin work on Sunday and early next week.
Attended Gorham High School vs. Westbrook High School swim meeting, 4p-5:30p
When our older daughter was growing up, I'd talk about how I thought every high school student should participate in at least one season of golf, swimming, or tennis to give themselves the opportunity to learn one of those sports for lifelong enjoyment.
Well, she put that advice to use by joining Gorham's swim team for the first time as a junior--in large part because of the shin splints and hip issues she experienced last year while playing both soccer and running track.
Gorham and Westbrook are two of our club's core communities. So besides watching our daughter experience the various little surprises of her first competitive swim meet, it was also enjoyable to watch a handful of our club's players compete in a different sport than soccer.
One of the aspects of the club that I'm so proud of is that we've designed our club's schedules, structures, and expectations to encourage our players to participate in other sports and activities besides just soccer.
Asleep, 9:53p
