(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Attended Hearts of Pine evals, 10a-11a
Briefly attended Hearts of Pine evaluations for the second week in a row at Falmouth High School.
It sounds like ten Maine players were invited back from last week's evals, as well as another eight Maine players who registered for this session that featured about 100 players from all over the country and at least ten different other countries.
Attended Crimson Pine's race, 11:15a-1:15p
Crimson Pine had a small drop in class and a good post position, so his last-place finish was a disappointment.
He broke his gait a couple different times, likely the result of loosening his hobbles a little bit after they appeared to be too tight last week.
Attended college ID event, 5:15p-5:45p
We're re-evaluating everything about our club as part of a 10-year internal audit, including the role we play in helping our players in the college research, recruiting, and selection process.
One current feature of our programming for our oldest boys' and girls' teams is to participate in three different college showcase events between November and March, but the presence of college coaches at our games has been mixed over the years despite specific and individualized outreach to coaches over the last few years.
It seems like college ID events are becoming more and more common now, so I checked in on an event our daughter hosted right down the road from our house.
Asleep, 9:36p
