(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Attended Crimson Pine's race, 9:15a-12:15p
After competing in all 22 of his career parimutuel races at Plainridge Park in Massachusetts over the last couple years, our 3-year-old pacer Crimson Pine made his Maine parimutuel debut yesterday morning.
(He did race in Maine in a couple non-betting "Learn and Earn" races in June 2023, but those races were pretty much glorified qualifiers a couple hours before post time.)
Anyway, I picked up pastries at The Baker's Bench in Westbrook to celebrate our partnership's 100th parimutuel race since Sixby Hanover made his debut on May 7, 2022, and Crimson Pine finished third.
Attended Portland Hearts of Pine's Mainer Day player evaluations, 12:15p-2p
Another historic milestone on the day was Portland Hearts of Pine's inaugural player evaluations, when they hosted evaluations for about 80 Mainers at Falmouth High School.
It was the first time Mainers had the opportunity to participate in a professional soccer tryout in Maine to hopefully earn a roster spot playing professional soccer in Maine for a professional Maine club.
