90 Days: Thursday, December 5 (Day No. 60)

(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Awoke, 5:43a

Ivory Pine Syndicate admin, 5:45a-6:30a; 3:45p-4p

Publicly announced the retirement of our pacer Sixby Hanover from the racetrack, worked on coordinating Sixby's entry in an aftercare program by connecting our veterinarian with the aftercare organization.

It sounds like a barn visit with Sixby is the next step in the process.

Worked at Westbrook High School, 7:30a-3:15p

Rosevelt SC admin, 3:15p-3:45p; 5:30p-6:45p

Worked on a project a former RSC coach is working on related to the pro club Portland Hearts of Pine, and finally cracked the code to maximize our teams' use of time and space this winter for training sessions and friendlies.

All of our teams will have a weekly training session when three teams will need to share a full indoor field, but the reintroduction of futsal to our teams' winter programming means that every team will also be able to practice on half a field with an age adjacent team using the other half. Each team will also be able to host a friendly against a fellow Maine State Premier League club before they play in their March pre-season tournaments.

This winter schedule was probably the most complicated one we've had to do in a while, but it feels like we've done a pretty good job achieving optimal time and space for our teams despite the scarcity of winterized facilities in southern Maine.

The next step is to share an updated draft of the master schedule with coaches for their feedback before sharing with our members next week.

Asleep, 9:59p
