90 Days: Wednesday, December 11 (Day No. 66)

(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)

Ivory + Rose Diarist admin, 5:30a-6:30a

Published a post about how we should reconfigure soccer in Maine, which I've been talking about in individual and small group conversations for years. Based on this site's analytics, the post seems to be making the rounds, and feedback has been positive. But working toward realizing such a comprehensive vision will be a multi-year effort full of various ups and downs.

Rosevelt SC admin, 2:30p-3:30p

Prepared for our upcoming MSPL club presidents' meeting by reviewing resolutions we've submitted for consideration in the past, and comparing those resolutions to recent developments and the meeting's agenda.

Ivory Pine Syndicate admin, 6:15p-6:30p; 8:30p-8:45p

Sent our Sixby Hanover partners an update on our progress transitioning him to an aftercare organization that specializes in retraining former racehorses as carriage, riding, and/or trail horses. Also sent our Crimson Pine partners an update that recapped his race last weekend and previewed his race this weekend.

Attended MSPL club presidents' meeting, 6:30p-8:30p

We were all supposed to meet in Brunswick, but inclement weather caused the meeting to be rescheduled as a Zoom. It was a productive and informative meeting, but am concerned about some recent trends that could disrupt the steady progress our Maine-based clubs have made over the last decade building up the quantity and quality of teams in our league.

MyJo podcast interview, 9p-9:15p

My friend Daniel Workman posted video and audio of our interview on his MoJo podcast on October 21.
