(This is the time of year when the horse racing season for the Ivory Pine Syndicate is winding down, but the soccer season for the Rosevelt Soccer Club is gearing up. Here's a 90-day glimpse of the day in the life of a horse racing managing partner and soccer club administrator.)
Awoke, 6:16a
Worked at Westbrook High School, 7:30a-2:30p
Watched Birmingham City FC game, 2:45p-3:45p
Rosevelt SC admin, 2:45p-3:45p
Today's focus was the multidimensional puzzle that is our teams' winter schedules.
Visited Norton Farm, 3:45p-4:30p
Weekly visit to historic Norton Farm in Falmouth to check in on our partnership's pacers, Sixby Hanover and Crimson Pine, and chat with their caregivers.
Also dropped off a rough draft of our prospectus for our partnership's 2025 offering for our co-owner and trainer Mike Graffam and his assistant trainer Beth Graffam to review before we share the outline of our next offering with our partners and the public.
Ivory Pine Syndicate admin, 8p-10p
Sent a partner update to our partners for Crimson Pine, our 3-year-old pacer who's been racing in Massachusetts for all of his career. We've entered him into a race at First Tracks Cumberland this Saturday, and it will be the first time we're able to see him compete at our home track since he participated in a couple unofficial 2-year-old races in June 2023.
Also put together the text and photos for our retirement post for Sixby Hanover, who competed in his last career race this past weekend. It may have gotten a little dusty in the office, as I went through my phone to pick twenty photos that capture our experience campaigning our partnership's first horse over the last 31 months.
Asleep, 10:25p
