Cumberland Pick 3: Friday, April 18 (Meet Day No. 3)

(Below are three selections for First Tracks Cumberland selected by Isaac Salisbury, Steve Morgan, and John Morgan. Each handicapper will start with a mythical $408 bankroll, and each selection will be bet with mythical $2 Win and $2 Place bets.)

Isaac Salisbury

$388.60 (- 4.8%)

Isaac is a Skowhegan native who became a passionate fan of horse racing when he discovered a knack for handicapping races when he was a senior in college during the pandemic in 2020.

Race No. 4

#5: Eternal Ring (8-1 ML)

Looking to take a longer shot this race, and this mare has performed before with McGwire Sowers in the bike.

Race No. 7

#4: Sarah's Lilly (2-1 ML)

Going McGwire Sowers heavy. I like the speed here, and don’t mind the post.

Race No. 10

#1: Perfect Bloom (8-5 ML)

Kevin Switzer, Jr. can go for the lead with this horse. If it stays there and keeps headway, we’ve got a winner.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Steve Morgan

$408.60 (+ 0.1%)

A partner in the Ivory Pine Syndicate, Steve has been attending and betting on races in Maine since the grandstands were full and Leigh Fitch was the leading driver.

Race No. 1

#5: Show Me the Magic (9-5 ML)

Most consistent TrackMaster Ratings best time last week, and good driver in Bruce Ranger.

Race No. 3

#4: Little Macabee (5-2 ML)

Going with a personal favorite in Little Macabee driven by Kevin Switzer, Jr.

Race No. 5

#4: Pax Hanover (2-1 ML)

Best time and TrackMaster Rating of this group, good driver in Aaron Hall, and the drop in class should help.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

John Morgan

$388.60 (- 4.8%)

John is the founder and managing partner of the Ivory Pine Syndicate.

Race No. 4

#3: Lucky Michael (8-1 ML)

Good post, good price, and a favorite in the field drawing a tough post.

Race No. 5

#4: Pax Hanover (2-1 ML)

Good post, good recent speed figure, and the third race (including a qualifier) off a winter layoff.

Race No. 7

#1: Miss Trickster (6-1 ML)

Good post, good price, and a favorite in the field coming off a 1-month layoff.
